Experimental Study on Vortex-Induced Vibration of Tension Leg and Riser for Full Depth Mooring Tension Leg Platform

According to the geometric parameters of tension leg platform, test model was made with a scale ratio 1:61. The used conduct full-depth simulation uniform flow and wave current combination in pool. results showed that when reduced speed between 5.5 8.5, lateral motion response platform most significant. In interval speed, frequency transverse vortex-induced close natural resonance occurred. amplitude surge increased increase speed. Due pull floating body, legs risers rate but did not significantly body lock zone. mooring had certain limiting effect on sway. displacement modes were greatly affected by velocity. With velocity increasing, mode order increased. addition, caused large impact amplitude. could reduce sway strengthen surge. Therefore, under combined action current, riser compared flow. conclusions obtained this paper be for reference engineering design risers.
